Whether you are a new or an established ESOP, you may be asking, "How do I determine who should be on our board?" This session will help you answer this question. It will start with explaining why you need a board and what are the roles and responsibilities of the board. This session will provide guidance on:
• What skills are needed
• How many members should there be and what is the mix of internal vs. external members
• Recruiting board members
• Interview/selection process
• Negotiating terms: pay, benefits, etc.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Upon completion, participants will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of board members.
  2. Upon completion, participants will be able to determine what the makeup (number and mix of internal/external) of the board and what skills are needed.
  3. Upon completion, participants gain an understanding of the recruiting, interviewing, and selecting process for board members.
